2021 GIVEAWAY

For the first time ever I am holding a contest to give away an original artwork of mine to one of my Instagram/Facebook followers. This is how it works; I will announce the completion of the painting (and start of the contest) on social media, with a link to this page. Once I have received a minimum of ten (10) valid entries here on this webpage, I will start a 7-day clock for accepting additional entries, ending at midnight. The end date of the giveaway will be listed here on this page and also announced on my Instagram feed and Facebook page. Once the contest ends, I will draw one winner at random from the list of selected entries.

This winner will receive the original painting shown above, 'Scarlet Tanager and Plum Tree' - 9" x 12" acrylic on board, unframed. The original will be accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. All packaging and shipping costs will be paid by me.

A little bit of info about this painting; it was inspired by a Robert Bateman painting I have always loved, of a Baltimore Oriole in a plum tree. So I did it as a tribute to one of my favourite artists. I made a number of changes, changed the species to a Scarlet Tanager (since I have painted Baltimore Orioles before) and have the bird facing the opposite direction, different lighting, etc... but the mood of the piece is similar. I was fortunate to meet Robert Bateman a number of years ago and sat and had a conversation with him about his art and mine. He had some great advice for me and it was a thrill I will always remember. Due to the fact this is a tribute painting that I am giving away, I will make no prints of it, the original will be the only one.

Entries are only accepted here on this webpage, using the form below. (No entries will be accepted on Instagram or Facebook.)

Members of my immediate household are not allowed to enter.
